The Express Inn Rally of Nashik, presented by Red FM and powered by Red FM and powered by Exide Inva RED Bateery was flagged off from the premises of Hotel Express Inn on the eve of 27th Sept. 2014. It was a splendid atmosphere at the start of this annual fair with scenic background of Pandav Leni (caves) and the beautiful rays of setting sun witnessing the ceremony ! The flag off was done in the presence of Mr. Darryl Berkalay of Express Inn, Mr. Manish Patole of Exide Industries, Mr. Sanjeev Jindal from RED FM, Mr. Neeraj Agarwal of Sula Vineyards.
This year Express Inn Rally ahs very less participation of experienced competitors. More than 40 pairs registered are totally newcomers who do not have any relation with motorsports otherwise. A few parents also visited WISA office to enquire about the evnt. Normally motorsports is related with speed. Hence families are concerned about the concept of the rally. There are few pairs of family members in the event as Mother-son duo, Mother-daughter pair, Father-son duo, pair of 2 brothers, Husband and wife pairs and more. Out of 50 teams, 7 are total ladies teams. While considering total no. f competitors, 20 are females. For an adventure sport like Motorsports, this is definitely very hopeful picture.
The experts participating, includes President of WISA Ashwin Pandit, Paritosh Kohok, Kaustubh Machche, only Nashikite in Rally of Maharashtar 2014, Aditya Dhiwar and few more. However all these experienced competitors are entering with different partners this time. Main aim behind this is to give benifit of their expertise to others. Pandit has chosen a school student as his navigator tp train her and develop another volunteer for WISA.
If we spare a look at the results of TSD rallies in general, we will find out that first timers have performed much better. Therfore it will be fun to watch the battle between experienced and novice participants in Express Inn Rally of Nashik.
To plan 2 different routes was a task for organizers. Both routes are very scenic. There are few competitors from Mumbai as well. So we can claim that aroma of spicy Rally of Nashik if teasing the noses of Maharashtra. Official start of the event is on Sunday at 8.00 am from Hotel Express Inn.
