Summary of events on Day 2 of Rally of Maharashtra, 2024

Gaurav Gill, Arjun along with Philipos & Jahan Gill failed to complete the rally stages scheduled for the day.
In all 14 drivers were unable to complete either 1 or more stages due to some technical issues: Final stage will take place today.

Championship contenders namely Gaurav Gill, Arjun Aroor Rao, Philipos Mathai and Jahan Gill failed to complete the rally as they lost control and went off the road at different stages, besides 14 drivers in different groups today failed to complete the rally stages due to various technical issues. All of them are likely to start in the final legĀ  tomorrow.

The second day of Blueband Sports INRC Rally of Maharashtra 2024 was a success. In the 5.96 km leg (Alpha stage – SS02) of the rally, at Metkavle area on the Bombiltek Amboli route, following after leading drivers Karna Kadur and Amitrajit Ghosh, the speeding Gaurav Gill lost control and went off the road at a bend, few minutes later Philipos too went off road after losing control. Due to these incidents the cars which followed, would have faced difficulty to pass through the stage and hence considering the safety of other competitors, the entire SS02 stage was cancelled. However, stage times were passed on to the car drivers as per the prescribed rules.

Difficulty for motorists due to technical issues
As many as 14 cars from various groups failed to start either 1 or more stages due to technical problems in their cars. Some of the cars may get to start tomorrow in the final leg of the Rally.

Enthusiasm among the Villagers in Poshera area
As the first stage of the morning session was canceled and some of the contestants dropped out, naturally, in this stage of nine and a half kilometers from Poshera to Morchundi, Kasoli, Hirvepada, Metkavle, the rest of the contestants showed their skills while driving their cars through the winding roads of Poshera(SS04), Kasoli, Hirvepada, Morchundi. The villagers standing on the high points along the route were welcoming the drivers by clapping and whistling, some were busy taking pictures of the car on their mobile phones, while others were wishing them victory by showing them the Victory signs.

Speeding vehicles
The Beta stage (SS03/SS06) consisted of Nilmathi to Osiwara Ghanwal, Dhandwal with more ghats and partly dirt roads. The drivers were very nervous as the vehicles speeding behind them and controlling the speed while taking turns on the spot in the ghats.
