    1) What does TSD stand for?

    Time, Speed and Distance. This is the entry level form of rallying designed for a common man to enter with the vehicle he has without modifying it. The travel is on public road and needs skill of navigation. It is NOT treasurer hunt. The speeds are moderate and designed as per traffic conditions of the roads used. They never cross 40 Kph.

    2) Who all can participate?

    It is Motorsport event for common man. You need any car / 2W which is authorised to run on Indian roads.

    3) What are the eligibility criteria?

    The Driver shall have a valid driving license and car shall have valid RTO papers, Insurance and a Special Rally cover insurance of a car. This will be issued by same branch of Insurance Company where your vehicle is insured.

    4) Do all the competitors start the rally at once?

    It is a Rally. Every one runs against time, so everyone gets his specific start time. Usually the cars start with 1 (one) minute interval.

    5) If all competitors do not start at once, then how do you decide the winner?

    Since you are running against your time, all competitors are asked to follow same route in same ideal time (every competitor gets the same Roadbook). So you start adding your ideal time from the time you have actually started the event. eg. if ideal time is 20 min 10 seconds between Point A to Point B, then car started at 08.05.00 hrs is expected to reach at 08.25.10 hrs at point B.

    6) What is a Road book?

    It is linear presentation of the route, you are supposed to travel in a rally. Where ever you change the direction, those instructions are mentioned in linear format. The measure is the distance in Km and Meters. You need to follow the ODO meter of your car.

    7) What is a TC or Time Control?

    It is the point where the organiser provides a team of officials who will write the time of your arrival on a time card given to you. These times are then considered for result calculations. There are in general more than 1 TCs placed in a TSD Rally route, which also ensure that the competitor is following the route correctly.

    8) What is the difference between TC and PC?

    A Time control writes the time you have reached there and Passage control acknowledges that you have passed his location. Both the locations you have to enter / pass by, in correct direction as mentioned by organiser.

    9) What are Penalties? How and why to avoid incurring them?

    Penalties are always “Time Penalties”. If you travel faster than the asked time you get early penalties, if you travel slower, then Late penalties. Early penalties are more than late penalties. So if you are 1 minute early usually it will be double penalty and late it will be 1 min per min late.

    10) Is there a different Road book for every single participant?

    No. The answer is already covered in Q5 above.
