Reigning National champion Gaurav Gill (co-driver Musa Sherif) stamped his authority on the Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra, the second round of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship, as he all but sealed the Overall title hereon Saturday with just 4.06 Kms of the Spectator Special Stage to be run on Sunday.
At the end of the first loop of the three Special Stages, Gill led the pack by 58 seconds, ahead of Arjun Rao (Satish Rajagopal), driving a R2 variant of the Volkswagen Polo with Team Yokohama’s Rahul Kanthraj (Vivek Bhatt) in Mitsubishi Cedia, a distant third while Thapar slid to ninth Overall.
All cars finished Alpha stage in time. Samir Thapar was faster than Gaurav in Alpha stage during first loop. Samir clocked 9 min 37 sec where Gaurav took 9 min 39 sec.

Ceremonial Flag off – Western India Sports Association organized, Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra 2015 started with the bang here at 6 pm by the hands of Commissioner of Police Mr. Jagannathan. The grand ceremony was held in the premises of Nashik City Centre Mall, city’s biggest gathering place.
The Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra organized by the Western India Sports Association (WISA) and to be run here from June 11 to 14, will herald a new season in the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship with promise of exciting action.

Total 25 pairs have registered themselves for the speed extravaganza. Out of 25 entries, 3 are from Maharashtra. Though competitors comprise from all over India, Karnataka dominates the entry list for Rally of Maharashtra.
